FEATURED DESIGN - the mimii cardigan
We're showcasing Abbie's latest design the Mimii Cardigan, which was created in one of our yarns; The DK One.
As soon as we saw the Cardi we were instantly obsessed with the gorgeous colour changing effect created by using multiple strands of double knit yarn on chunky needles.
We've got the inside info from Abbie herself on how to re-create this stunning technique and replicate the exact colour ways used for the sample .

THE TECHNIQUE
The sample uses a colour change technique which is simple to do but looks very effective.
Step 1) Pick a base colour. For the sample, this was white.
Step 2) Choose a colour order. Lay out your yarns and decide which colours should go with what.
Step 3) Begin knitting. Change accent colour every 3 rows. If you want a more gradual colour change, I would do this every 5 or 7 rows.
Step 4) On row 3, change 1 of your colours. Knit a further 3 rows.
Step 5) On row 6, switch out the colour you started with for a new colour.
Step 6) Continue for the remainder of your project creating a beautiful ombre effect.
